Seitai Hoshikai Catholic Monastery

A Catholic monastery on a hill, about 10 minutes by car from Akita Onsen Satomi.
The statue of the Virgin Mary, who shed tears 101 times from 1975 to 1981, is enshrined in the cathedral.

Red brick folk museum

The building of the former Akita Bank head office, which was built in 1912, is open to the public as a local hall. Inside the heavy Baroque style, you can visit the old library stack and the old business room where traditional crafts are exhibited. There are permanent exhibits such as “Katsuhira Tokushi Katsuhira Tokushi Memorial Hall” and “Sekiya Shiro Memorial Hall”, which are local print artists.
Among them, the red brick in the main building of the former Akita Bank head office is a valuable Western-style building from the Meiji era and is an important cultural property of the country.

Aburaya Collection

Of the approximately 500,000 “Yuya Collection” stored in the Akita Palace in Yuzawa City, about 200,000 were donated by Mr. Hiroo Yutani to Akita City’s exhibition and storage facility (formerly Kinsoku). Higashi Elementary School) sorts and organizes the items and stores them.

Akitainu station

In 2018, the Akita Inu permanent facility “Akita Inu Station” opened in Area Nakaichi.
